He was married in Austin to 1885 to Anna Katherine Pearson, and unto this union were born four sons, Gus, Carl, Ernst and Helmer, all of this city.
His wife passed away in June, 1894. Two years later he was married in Austin to Selma Anderson, who with their three daughters, Mrs. Mabel Cook, Mrs. Blanche Foster and Miss Allie Seaholm, survives him. Mr. Seaholm was one of the pioneer rice farmers of this section, a charter member of the local I. O. O. F. Lodge and an honorary member of Woodbine Encampment, Houston.
Nine years ago last March, Mr. Seaholm suffered a paralytic stroke, and while his condition has not been strong since, he was able to be up, and about and each day took long walks. Though not wholly unexpected, his death came as a shock to his family and his friends.
Mr. Seaholm was a splendid citizen, a man who attended strictly to his own affairs, a man of friendly disposition and genial manners, a man who enjoyed a wide circle of friendship and a man who wished all mankind well.
He was a fine musician and was instrumental in organizing Eagle Lake's first band nearly thirty years ago, in which he and his four boys took part. This was the "Eagle Cornet Band," which became widely known throughout this section of the State.
To all within the circle of his acquaintance, Mr. Seaholm was known as an honest and honorable man. He lived a life among us that no one questioned his honesty nor his sincerity of purpose. The was energetic, giving his life to useful toil, and his conduct was ever such as to win for him the supreme confidence and high esteem of those with whom he associated and to his children he has left a heritage that time can never efface a good name.
Other than his immediate family here, he is survived by an older brother, Olof Seaholm of Sweden, and a brother and sister living in Austin, Gus Seaholm and Mrs. Amanda Westlund.
The Headlight extends sincerest sympathy to the sorrowing members of the family in their irreparable loss.

Seaholm, Johnnie Lou (Waddell)
MRS. G. A. SEAHOLM PASSED AWAY AT HOUSTON HOSPITAL
A gloom or sorrow spread over the town and entire community when it was learned on Sunday morning that Mrs. G. A. Seaholm passed away at the Herman Hospital in Houston at 3:15 that morning.
She had been ill only a few days and was taken to the hospital Thursday where she underwent an operation the following morning. For a time she was thought to be improving, but Saturday she slowly grew weaker until the end came early Sunday morning.
The maiden name of this good woman was Johnnie Lou Waddell, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John L. Waddell, and her death is the first in the family mother, father, six sisters and a brother.
For her relief and recovery, all that could have been done was lovingly and faithfully done, but the destroyer finally claimed her as a victim, and the sweet, beautiful life came to a close on earth that a sweeter, happier life might be begun in the brighter world beyond, where sickness and sorrow cannot come and where partings are no more.
Inexpressedly sad was the passing of this splendid young woman, and mortals cannot understand why she was not spared to those who loved her so dearly, but we have the blessed assurance that some day all mysteries will be revealed and then we shall know even the great will of God. Sincerely do we sorrow with those who are so sorely bereaved and to whom life for, a time must be so sad and empty. To her beloved companion, her two little boys, her parents, sisters and brother and all who were bound to her by the holy ties of kinship our hearts go out at this time, sharing as best we can their grief and. loneliness, wishing, we could heal their broken hearts and praying that In the fullness of time the peace that passeth all understanding will come.
Mrs. Seaholm is survived by her husband and two sons, Leonard and Gardner, her mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Waddell, five sisters, Mrs. Justin A. Smith, Mrs. W. T. Eggers, Mrs. C. E. White, Mrs. C. M. George and Mrs. M. A. Goodson, and one brother, Philip E. Waddell, six nephews, numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
The funeral service was held at the home Monday morning at 10 o'clock, at which time a great crowd of sympathizing friends came to pay respect to the remains of one they had loved and mingle their tears with the bitter tears of sorrowing loved ones. Rev. J. C. Wilson, beloved pastor of the deceased, conducted a soothing and beautiful service over the remains of the beloved wife, mother, daughter and sister, and then the body was given sepulture in the Masonic Cemetery and raised above it a hallowed mound, which was banked with flowers of richest hues and sweetest fragrance.
Among the out-of-town people here to attend the funeral service were, Miss Linnie Stone, Mrs. W. B. Arnold, Mr. Gerald Gibson, WaIton White, Mrs. Laura. White, Mrs. Mary O'Riodan, Mrs. E. L. Stone, Mrs. O. S. Gibson and Miss Phyrne Gibson of Houston; Mrs. V. O. Newman and Mrs. Florence Korthauer, Wharton; Rev. and. Mrs. McKinney, Mrs. Garrett and Mrs. L. F. Seaholm, Mary (Sullivan)
MRS. SEAHOLM DIED MONDAY AT HOME HERE
Following a long and painful illness, Mrs. Carl Seaholm died at the family home in this city at half past 4 o'clock on last Monday afternoon. For a long time Mrs. Seaholm has been in ill health, and only recently underwent a surgical operation at one of the hospitals in Galveston, in the hope that her failing health might be restored. She was able to be about for a short while after her return from the hospital, but grew weaker and weaker, and for several weeks past her death had not been unexpected.
Mrs. Seaholm, who before marriage was Miss Mary Sullivan, was 31 years of age and with the exception of a few years spent in Nebraska, she spent practically her whole life in this community. Her father, Mr. Richard Sullivan, died in 1906 of injuries received in an accident on the railroad, following which she and her mother moved to Nebraska to make their home with their brother and son, Mr. F. W. Wagner, now of this community. Later they and Mr. Wagner moved back to this community.
She was married In 1911 to Mr. Carl Seaholm, who survives her. She also leaves to mourn her passing her mother, Mrs. Louise Sullivan and two half brothers, Messrs. F. W. and A. L. Wagner.
Mrs. Seaholm was a splendid, good woman, always happy and joyful, one it was a pleasure to be around for she scattered sunshine wherever she went. ‘Tis sad Indeed to think of this lovely young woman cut down in the bloom of youth, the glory of strength and the promise of usefulness.
For many long weeks the husband and close friends and relatives have watched desides[sic] their suffering loved one, and in weariness of body and agony of soul they now sit beside their loved bier. To these stricken ones, and others closely bound by the ties of kinship and love, our people pour out their hearts in sympathy. [Interment in Eagle Lake Masonic Cemetery]

Certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists, Seaholm worked for over 50 years as a medical technologist.
On June 26, 1948, Ruth Thomas married Leonard Howard Seaholm. The couple lived for a few years in New Orleans and in Athens, Texas, before settling in Dallas where they raised their two children.
Ruth was especially appreciated by her friends for her marvelous gift of storytelling. She routinely regaled guests and co-workers with tales of growing up in a rural community in the 20s and 30s.
After her retirement, she committed her many tales to paper. She wrote dozens of vignettes, several poems and short-stories and one novel.
After her son and husband died in 1994 and 1995, respectively, Ruth Seaholm’s already precarious health declined; and she moved to Austin to live with her daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter.

This much loved and loving woman now breathes easily, with the peace that passes all understanding. So many will miss her, but none will begrudge her rest.
