WILHELM WM. STRUSS, SR. was born December 15, 1859 in Fayettville, Texas, and died August 12, 1953 in Columbus, Texas. He married JULIA LILIE January 11, 1884 in New Ulm, Texas, daughter of FRIEDERICH LILIE and FRIEDERICKE MALSCH. She was born December 05, 1864 in Brushy Community, Near Columbus, Texas, and died November 19, 1937 in Columbus, Texas.
Wilhelm "Wm" Struss, after a short courtship with Julia Lilie of the Brushy Area outside of Columbus, Texas, married in the Lutheran Church in Frelsburg, Texas on January 11, 1884. Julia moved in with Wilhelm on the Florenz Brune place for a few months after marriage before later settling on the Colorado River bottom near the Shaw’s Bend area (just outside of Columbus). They rented their first home there from 1884 until 1891. Three of Wm and Julia's children were born at the river bottom residence, Anna Katherine "Annie", William Albert, and Louis Theodore "Louie".

ALWIN “A.J.” JOSEPH STRUSS was born October 25, 1897 in Shaw’s Bend, Colorado County, Texas, and died June 17, 1966 in Eagle Lake, Colorado County, Texas. He married MATHILDE WILHEMINA WALLING July 01, 1920 in Bernardo, Texas Home of Mathilde's Parents, daughter of JOHANN WALLING and JOHANNA OSTHOFF. She was born February 12, 1894 in Balltown, Iowa, and died November 29, 1982 in Eagle Lake, Colorado County,Texas.
Alwin Joseph Struss and Mathilde Wilhemina "Tillie" Walling were united in marriage on a Thursday afternoon at the home of the Tillie's mother, Mrs. Johanna B. Walling of Bernardo, Texas. The date was July 1, 1920.
Immediately following their wedding trip and honeymoon, the couple moved to Garwood, Texas where A. J. started A. J. Struss Auto Supply business and gasoline station in August 1921.
ANNA “Annie” KATHERINE STRUSS was born February 23, 1885 in Shaw’s Bend Colorado Riverbottom, Near Columbus, Texas, and died March 10, 1972 in Columbus, Texas. She married JOHN HUEBEL, JR. March 15, 1909 in Glidden, Texas, son of JOHN HUEBEL and CAROLINA HANTZ. He was born April 15, 1884 in Ellinger, Texas, and died May 10, 1926 in Glidden, Texas.
WILLIAM “WILLIE’ ALBERT STRUSS was born October 11, 1888 in Shaw’s Bend Colorado Riverbottom, Near Columbus, Texas, and died November 26, 1964 in El Campo, Texas. He married (1) JENNIE FRELS December 26, 1912 in Trinity Lutheran Church, Frelsburg, Texas, daughter of WILHELM FRELS and ANNA LEYENDECKER. She was born September 25, 1885 in Frelsburg, Texas, and died June 01, 1953 in Shaw’s Bend, Colorado County, Texas. He married (2) ADELE SCHERBIG in 1954 in Columbus, Colorado County, Texas, daughter of HERMAN SCHERBIG and MATILDA SCHULTZ. She was born July 23, 1906, and died January 14, 1995.
LOUIS “Louie” THEODORE STRUSS was born February 10, 1887 in Shaw’s Bend Colorado River Bottom, Near Columbus, Texas, and died April 28, 1942 in Shaw’s Bend, Texas (just North of Columbus, Texas). He married (1) SOPHIA KOEHL, daughter of HENRY KOEHL and MARGARET EMBROCK. She was born July 11, 1902 in Columbus, Texas, and died June 22, 1981 in Bellville, Texas. He married (2) ANGELIKA 'YELA' TIETSCHERT November 29, 1910 in Shaw’s Bend, Texas, daughter of ERNST TIETSCHERT and CHRISTIANA PETERS. She was born May 06, 1888 in Shaw’s Bend, Texas, and died December 29, 1938 in Shaw’s Bend, Texas (just North of Columbus, Texas).
Once again, a lifelong friend, and a descendant of the Brune Family with whom Wilhelm Wm. Struss spent many years, joined many friends and guests at the ceremony of marriage between Louis Theodore Struss and Angelika 'Yela' Tietschert on November 29, 1910.
His name was Louis H. Brune. Louis was present at the ceremony for two reasons, one, as a friend, and the other, as Justice of the Peace. It was Louis Brune that performed the marriage ceremony for Louie and Yela.
