COMMENTS: From Nesbitt Memorial Library website: Kindred, Joshua P. (sergeant) merchant, age 30 in 1860; enlisted in Company F, 4th Texas Infantry, on March 7, 1862 at Hallettsville; wounded slightly in the hand at Gaines' Mill, Cold Harbor, Virginia, June 27, 1862; hospitalized at a private home in Richmond, Virginia; detailed as regimental forage master, August 31, 1862; assigned to quartermaster duties, September 10, 1862; captured at Antietam, September 28, 1862; hospitalized while a prisoner of war, October 10 through October 11, 1862; paroled at Fort McHenry, October 13, 1862; hospitalized, October 19 through November 15, 1862; promoted quartermaster sergeant, April 1, 1863.

Nina Kindred, 10 years of age, was listed in the household of Daniel Stockbridge in Eagle Lake in the 1870 Colorado County Texas census
