COMMENTS: Johann Fredrick Berthold and his second wife, Christina Englot (or
Bruno) along with his son, "Fritz" who was then about 19 years old, arrived
in Galveston, Texas aboard the Brig Herschel in January of 1850 after sixty
days at sea. After approximately three weeks in Houston they settled in
Colorado County where both spend the remainder of their lives.
